If you find that your boiler is giving you any one of these problems, contact Green Heating and Air immediately. It's vital to schedule on going maintenace to ensure your boiler runs optimally. If you are experiencing:

• Leaks and Dripping: Water leaks can originate from failing gaskets, corroded pipes or boiler sections, faulty pump seals, or a malfunctioning pressure relief valve.
• No Heat or Hot Water: This can be due to a malfunctioning thermostat, failed components (like the circulator pump, gas valve, or ignition system), low water levels/pressure, or air in the system.
• Ignition Problems / Pilot Light Issues: Your pilot light might be going out and not staying lit (often due to a faulty thermocouple, especially in older models), problems with the electronic ignition module, or a dirty/faulty flame sensor. Gas supply problems can also prevent ignition.
• Pressure Issues (Low or High): Boilers may shut down if the water pressure is too low. Conversely, excessive pressure can cause the pressure relief valve to discharge water. Causes include system leaks, a faulty pressure reducing valve (fill valve), issues with the expansion tank (waterlogged or faulty), or air in the system.
• Strange Noises:
  1. Kettling (Rumbling/Banging): Can be caused by limescale or sludge buildup within the heat exchanger, restricting water flow and causing localized boiling.
  2. Gurgling/Whistling: Can indicate air trapped within the system (radiators may need bleeding), low water pressure, or issues with the circulator pump.
  3. Ticking: Continuous clicking noise.
• Condensate Pipe Problems: For high-efficiency condensing boilers, the condensate drain pipe can freeze in cold weather, causing a blockage and system shutdown.
• Component Failures: Specific parts can fail over time, including the circulator pump, gas valve, pressure relief valve, various sensors (temperature, pressure), the control board (PCB), or the aquastat (limit control).
• Needing Frequent Resets: If the boiler frequently requires manual resetting (often via a button on the aquastat or control module), it usually indicates an underlying fault condition, such as overheating or a sensor issue, that is causing a safety lockout.
